RWANDA LEGACY OF HOPE IS PLANNING ESTABLISH A TRAINING CENTRE AT RWAMAGANA HOSPITAL IN FEBRUARY 2016 FOR LOCAL DOCTORS 

30 medical team members from Rwanda Legacy of Hope Consultant Surgeon Plastic Surgery, ENT, Hernia Operation, Anaesthetist, Theatre nurses and Physiotherapist are planning to return to Rwanda on the 04th February 2016. to Establish a training centre at Rwamagana hospital and work in Remera Rukoma,Gahini,Rwamagana,Kirinda,
Nyamata,Kigeme,Kibogora, CHK Hospital and train local Doctors

RWANDA LEGACY OF HOPE IS PLANNING ESTABLISH A TRAINING CENTRE AT RWAMAGANA HOSPITAL IN FEBRUARY 2016 FOR LOCAL DOCTORS 
A key plan and objectives of Rwanda Legacy of Hope is to transfer surgical skills and knowledge to local doctors in Rwanda. The trainees of today will become the trainers of tomorrow in Rwanda. We have trained doctors during all our missions. In 2014, we trained 13 doctors at Gahini and Kirinda Hospitals and provided them with CPD Certificates. In 2016, we are planning a comprehensive Training Workshop in hernia Mesh repair. This will start with lectures on the anatomy and practical aspects of hernia repair. We will then take trainees doctors to 2 hospitals and provide one to one hands on training for a whole week. To affirm our objective of training and to underline the importance of this venture we have accessed funding to fully equip one theatre to a very high standard to become a permanent training centre in Rwanda. We would like to start off by training in Mesh repair of inguinal hernias and also teach novel non mesh hernia repair. The centre will be used at various times of the year to train local doctors in procedures in other specialties.

PLASTIC SURGERY AND ENT SERVICES

The aim of Rwanda Legacy of Hope is to expand our surgical services to include other specialities. Therefore in August 2013 and again in February 2014 we ran Plastic Surgery clinics and operating theatres. In 2016 we plan to expand our surgical services to include Ear Nose and Throat (ENT)

Rwanda Legacy of Hope is still searching for volunteers! We need consultant surgeons in plastic surgery, ENT, Consultant Gynecologist, Orthopaedics, Nurses, who would like to do voluntary work in Rwanda in February 2016 and subsequent missions planned for 2017/2019.
